Our Difference
We Practice Regenerative Agriculture
We practice regenerative agriculture which is a way of farming that restores the land instead of depleting it. Everything we do focuses on improving soil health, increasing biodiversity, and working with nature. Each year, our land becomes more fertile, more resilient, and more alive. Below are some of the methods we use to do this.
Our cows are moved to fresh pasture daily managed with electric fencing. This mimics natural herd movement, allowing pastures time to rest and regrow. This builds richer soil, increases biodiversity, and naturally supports the health of our animals without relying on shortcuts like synthetic inputs.
Rotational Grazing
We use a multi-species approach to naturally improve our pastures. After our cows move to fresh grass, we wait a few days before bringing in chickens to follow behind them. This allows for beneficial insect activity to begin, giving the chickens something to forage while they break apart manure, reduce flies, and spread nutrients back into the soil.
It’s a simple, natural system that supports healthier animals, healthier soil, and ultimately more nutrient-dense food.
Multi-Species Approach
Animal welfare isn’t marketing to us; it’s our standard. We choose slower, more thoughtful practices that prioritize the health, comfort, and natural behavior of our animals over maximizing output. Each of our girls have names and (usually) come when called. They all have their own personalities, and we love them dearly! Below are some of the ways we prioritize the wellbeing of our girls!
We Prioritize Animal Welfare
We practice calf sharing, which allows our calves to remain with their mothers and nurse naturally until fully weaned (around 4-6 months old). Calf sharing honors the strong natural bond between cow and calf, supports healthier calf development, and ensures our animals are raised with care and respect. Unfortunately, this practice is virtually non-existent in dairy farming in the United States because it results in lower milk yields.
Calf Sharing
We believe that better milk starts with a healthy gut, or rumen in a cow’s case! That’s why we don’t chase maximum production with feed sources heavy in starches which are difficult for a cow’s rumen to digest. Instead, we feed a simple, fiber-supportive ration using grains like barley and oats alongside beet pulp to maintain body condition and promote stable digestion.
This approach supports long-term animal health, natural milk production, and a more sustainable system overall.
Rumen Health Over Production
We Aim to Produce the Best Milk Available
Each of our cows have been genetically tested and carry only the A2 beta-casein protein. Some people find A2/A2 milk easier to digest than A2/A1.
Our Milk is A2/A2
Our Milk is Fresh & Creamy
Our milk is always fresh from the cow within hours of being milked! The cream has never been removed from the milk, and it naturally rises to the top of every jar.
All cow’s milk has some linoleic acid in the cream, but when cows are fed a diet with corn and soy, it significantly increases linoleic acid in their milk. Because our cows are raised on pasture, and NEVER fed corn or soy, their milk is naturally higher in Omega-3’s, lower in linoleic acid, and richer in compounds like CLA.
Our Milk is Less Inflammatory
Our milk goes from the cow, to the bottle, to you. Milk you purchase from the store may be pasteurized (cooked to kill of bacteria - good and bad), homogenized (processed to prevent the cream from rising to the top), adulterated with synthetic vitamins and other additives, or standardized.
Standardization is the process used by all major producers where milk is separated into its constituent solids and fat, partially dehydrated, then mixed back together to form a product which conforms to the minimum legal limits for milk.
Our Milk is Unprocessed
Our cleanliness standards are of the utmost importance. We pride ourselves on keeping our cows and equipment as clean as possible.
